Build your own Starry Sky!
Cut-out sheet for a dome-shaped star chart with distortion-free depiction of all stars and constellations visible in the northern sky down to latitudes of 40ºN. Includes date and time markers to simplify locating stars and constellations.
The unique design of this dome-shaped star chart allows for a nearly undistorted depiction of the starry sky, not unlike the inside of a planetarium dome. It solves the ancient cartographer problem of mapping a three-dimensional sphere onto a flat surface in a very elegant way.
The Star Dome is easy to build. It is also stackable and therefore ideal for astronomical group work, e.g. at school or in Scout groups.
This kit contains:
- 3 printed sheets of A4 construction cardboard to cut out
- detailed construction manual on the sheets

Things you will need for assembly:
- a firm and flat working surface, useful is a cutting mat
- a pair of scissors
- a craft knife or a scalpel
- a good universal glue
- a pencil
- a ruler
- a pin
