The Sun in Focus
In 1609, when Galileo Galilei presented the world with a further development of the telescope he had invented a year earlier, stargazing as we know it today was born. His discoveries were a scientific sensation, but they initially concentrated on lunar craters, crescent phases of Venus and moons around Jupiter. The Sun came into focus a little later, often with fatal consequences for observers who did not protect their eyes.
Protection for the eyes
With the Solar Telescope, AstroMedia offers an excellent telescope based on the Galilean principle. Thanks to the 6.5x magnification and the CE-approved Solar Filter, observing the Sun directly is safely possible.
Advice
With a few utensils, such as an open cardboard box, a white sheet of paper and a little bit of skill, you can also build a solar projector and observe the Sun together with others. The building instructions that come with the Solar Telescope tell you exactly how to do it.

Things you will need for assembly:
- a firm and flat working surface, useful is a cutting mat
- a sharp craft knife or a scalpel
- a dull knife or a folding tool
- a good universal glue
Supervision by adults:
Children under the age of 14 should use the kit under adult supervision to avoid risks due to improper handling.
Take care with small parts:
Choking hazard! Keep small parts out of the reach of small children.
Safe use:
Check the BAADER AstroSolar® safety filter for damage such as abrasions, scratches or other safety-relevant influences before each use. Do not continue to use damaged film.
If the film is damaged or scratched, the telescope must no longer be used for solar observation as it no longer provides adequate protection and poses a high health risk.
Fire hazard:
Keep away from open sources of fire and heat. Product contains highly flammable materials.
Caution when focussing light: Do not expose lenses to direct sunlight unattended as they can create a focal point.
Risk of injury:
Take particular care when handling pointed and sharp parts! Use sharp tools carefully and take suitable safety measures to avoid injury if necessary.
Use of adhesive:
When using adhesive, follow the manufacturer's safety instructions. Work in well-ventilated areas and avoid contact with skin or eyes.
Intended use:
The BAADER AstroSolar® safety filter must not be used for naked-eye observation or for making eclipse glasses without additional protection.
The kit should be used in accordance with the enclosed instructions. Independent modifications may impair the functionality and safety of the model built.
