An astronomical refracting telescope with 30x magnification for the price of a CD!
With a piece of waste pipe and fittings (not included) you can build yourself a sturdy astronomical telescope with a sharp colour corrected image and 30x magnification that can be mounted on an ordinary photographic tripod. It shows an upside down picture like most astronomical telescopes.
In addition to first-class color-corrected lenses, a photo tripod adapter, a small pre-cut construction sheet and detailed assembly instructions, you will also receive a shopping list for your DIY store. You'll need a 40mm waste pipe with a push-fit sleeve, a connecting sleeve, and a sleeve plug, as well as some skill, and your homemade Plumber's Telescope is ready to go.
Tracking the sky with Kepler optics
The Plumber's Telescope is a high-quality beginner's telescope. For a relatively small amount of money everyone gets the opportunity to explore the starry sky like Galileo Galilei: Lunar craters, Jupiter's moons and much more.
As with all astronomical telescopes with Kepler optics, the image is upside down, but this is not a problem when observing the night sky.
The kit contains a set of high quality achromatic glass lenses, a tripod adapter, cardboard fittings, instructions, and a shopping list for your local DIY store.

Things you’ll need for assembly, or which might be useful:
- a fine-toothed saw, e.g. small hacksaw
- a thin drill
- adhesive tape
- a good universal glue
- some sandpaper
- a craft knife or a scalpel
Adult supervision:
Children under the age of 14 should use the kit under adult supervision to avoid risks due to improper handling.
Take care with small parts:
Choking hazard! Keep small parts out of the reach of small children.
Risk of injury:
Take particular care when handling pointed and sharp parts! Use sharp tools with care and take suitable safety measures to avoid injury.
Fire hazard:
Keep away from naked flames and heat sources. Product contains highly flammable materials.
Caution when focussing light: Do not expose lenses to direct sunlight unattended as they can create a focal point.
Danger from sunlight:
Never look directly at the Sun through the telescope without using a suitable solar filter, as this can cause serious eye damage.
Use of adhesives:
Observe the manufacturer's safety instructions when using adhesives. Work in well-ventilated areas and avoid skin or eye contact.
