A Toy with Tradition
The Ferris wheel is in the tradition of the drive models made of tin, which found their way into the children's rooms of wealthy families as accessories for toy steam engines since the end of the 19th century, and is therefore one of the accessories for the Steam, Stirling, and Nitinol Engines.
A special lightweight
To keep the Ferris Wheel moving from the rather modest power of the AstroMedia Steam Engine, it is designed to be running especially smoothly and has a high reduction ratio of 15:1, i.e. the drive wheel that turns the Ferris Wheel has a diameter 15 times larger than the driving wheel that is attached to the crankshaft of the driving engine.
Passengers are welcome
The cabins of the Ferris wheel can also carry small figures. It is important that the weight of the passengers in two opposite cabins is exactly the same.

Things you’ll need for assembly, or which might be useful:
- a craft knife or another sharp knife
- a good all-purpose glue
- a pair of tweezers or small needle nose pliers
- optional: a black or gold pen for colouring the edges of the cardboard
- a good, sturdy work surface or cutting mat
Adult supervision:
Children under 14 years of age should only use this kit under adult supervision to avoid risks arising from improper handling.
Caution regarding small parts:
Choking hazard! Keep small parts out of the reach of young children.
