A very special photographic paper from the early days of photography
Cyanotype is a process that is as fascinating as it is simple, as it takes advantage of the light sensitivity of an iron salt. Developed in 1842 by the English scientist and astronomer John Herschel, the iron-blue print remained significant well into the 20th century: this is where the term “blueprint” comes from!
This is how it works:
Objects placed on the paper leave their outlines after a brief exposure to sunlight, much like a silhouette. Development and fixing are done with tap water; a darkroom is not necessary.

Good to know:
When used properly, the paper's coating is safe and therefore suitable for children under adult supervision.
