Inverting an image
An inverting prism made from high quality PMMA (acrylic glass), named after its inventor, the physicist and meteorologist Heinrich Dove (1803-1879). Its trapezoidal shape makes it ideal for inverting a picture through total reflection. The long sides of the prism are not polished.

Risk of breakage:
The prism may break if subjected to heavy mechanical stress. Damage may result in sharp edges. Dispose of broken pieces carefully and in their entirety, wearing protective gloves if necessary to avoid injury.
Proper storage:
Avoid storing the prism in extremely hot environments or near sources of heat, as the acrylic glass may warp.
