A Wheel for your Engines!
This Ferris Wheel can be driven by the AstroMedia Steam Engine (830.DMS) or the Stirling Engine (826.STM). It stands in the tradition of tin models meant to be driven by toy steam engines produced for the children of wealthy families at the end of the 19th century. To make sure it can be driven by the moderate power of the AstroMedia Steam Engine, the construction minimises friction as much as possible and includes a gear reduction of 15:1. That means that the diameter of the driving wheel fitted to the ferris wheel is 15 times as large as the diameter of the one fitted to the crank shaft of the Steam Engine or Stirling Engine
