AstroMedia is a German company which is famous for their beautiful cardboard kits of scientific instruments and educational models that REALLY WORK. The printing is lovingly done in black and gold on high quality cardboard, most kits have the parts pre-cut for easy assembly, and all kits come with English instructions. AstroMedia also provide components like lenses, mirrors, filters, etc. for people who want to construct their own telescopes or conduct optical experiments. My name is Andreas Schröer and I have a PhD in astrophysics from the Ruhr University Bochum in Germany. I practically grew up with the fantastic AstroMedia kits, which originate from my home town Essen in North Rhine-Westphalia. In 2005 I moved to England and started working for the Open University as an associate lecturer in applied mathematics until 2015. I also run a business for electric vehicles. In 2008 I bought myself the AstroMedia Stirling Engine as a Christmas present and instantly decided to open this shop. In January 2013 we became the official importers for AstroMedia in the UK. My wife Angela, who has a BA Honours in Humanities with Classical Studies, also used to work for the OU. She now works part time for the University of East Anglia in Norwich. Angela is in charge of administration and sales in our shop.
